Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is a government grant given to all schools to help boost achievement for groups of children who might be considered as disadvantaged. The allocation is based on the number of children entitled to free school meals. The school is free to spend this premium in a way they think best supports the raising of achievement for the most vulnerable pupils.

Sport Premium

The Sports Premium programme has provided schools throughout Britain extra funding for the provision of Physical Education. The money provided has been used to help enhance PE and subsequently have a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of the children.

The PE and Sport Premium can help primary schools to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. Providing primary schools with £320m of government funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE, physical activity and sport offered through their core budgets. It is allocated directly to schools so they have the flexibility to use it in the way that works best for their pupils.

Summary of spending 2019 – 2020

Objective 1: To support school sport in the local cluster and allow children the opportunity to compete in local competitions

Objective 2: To continue to provide high-quality PE teaching across the school and enhancing the skills of teachers by training and working alongside professional sports coaches.
